Topicals in Las Cruces.
The smallest shelf at 1595 El Paseo Rd and the one people ask about most quietly. Balms, lotions, and roll-ons that go onto skin. Below is what is actually in one and how it differs from everything else we sell.
What is actually in the jar.
A cannabis topical is a cannabis extract mixed into something that spreads. The carrier is usually an oil, a wax, or a lotion base, and the extract in it is measured the same way an edible is, in milligrams. Read the container the way you would read a gummy box. Total milligrams and container size are the two numbers that matter.
Balms and salves
Thick, wax-based, and slow to absorb. They sit where you put them, which is the point.
Lotions and creams
Water-based and lighter. They cover more ground per pump and disappear faster into the skin.
Roll-ons and sticks
The same idea in packaging you can use without getting it on your hands. Easy to carry.
Transdermal patches
A different animal. Built to cross the skin barrier and release over hours. Read the next section before buying one.
Most of them are not intoxicating.
Skin is a barrier, and it is good at its job. Rub a balm into your shoulder and the cannabinoids largely stay in the layers of skin you put them on. Very little crosses into the bloodstream, which is why a topical generally does not produce the high that smoking or eating does.
A transdermal patch inverts that on purpose. It carries chemical helpers that get cannabinoids through the barrier and into circulation, and it keeps doing it for hours after you stick it on. If you are buying a patch, treat it the way you would treat an edible and plan the day around it.
Worth knowing
A topical will not show up as a high
People sometimes buy a balm, feel nothing, and assume it was a dud. Feeling nothing is how a non-transdermal topical is supposed to work. Nothing went into your bloodstream.
A topical is also not a drug test workaround. Do not treat it as one.
What we can and cannot tell you.
Topicals are the one shelf where we say less than we would like to. New Mexico does not allow a licensed retailer to make health or therapeutic claims about cannabis, and we would not make one we could not back with a lab result anyway. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
What we will happily do is read a container with you. We can tell you the total milligrams, the ratio of THC to CBD if the label prints one, what the carrier base is, and whether the product is transdermal. Those four facts are what separates one jar on our shelf from another, and they are all printed on the package.
If you take prescription medication or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, that is a conversation for your doctor rather than our counter. Our FAQ covers the rest of how shopping here works.

Questions about topicals.
Do cannabis topicals get you high?
A balm, lotion, or salve rubbed into skin is generally not intoxicating, because the cannabinoids stay in the layers of skin you applied them to and very little reaches the bloodstream. Transdermal patches are the exception and are built specifically to cross into the bloodstream, so treat one as closer to an edible than a lotion.
Do I need a medical card to buy topicals in New Mexico?
No. Cannabis topicals are sold on the same rules as everything else in the store. Any adult 21 or older with a valid government-issued ID can buy one, and New Mexico medical cannabis patients can shop with a valid patient card and ID.
What is the difference between a topical and a transdermal patch?
Where the cannabinoids end up. A topical is designed to stay local to the skin you rubbed it into. A transdermal patch uses carriers that push cannabinoids through the skin barrier and into the bloodstream, and it releases over hours. One is a lotion and the other is a delivery system.
How much do cannabis topicals cost in Las Cruces?
It depends on the size of the container and the total milligrams in it, and the topical shelf is the smallest and fastest-rotating part of our store. Call us at (575) 523-5918 for current pricing, and whatever we quote is the tax-included, out-the-door price.
