From our grow
Notes from the room it grew in.
Johnny Boy came out of the flower room dense and dark, more purple than green under the lights by the end. We ran a longer cure on this batch because the myrcene kept building the longer we waited, and by week three the jar smelled like ripe mango before we even broke a bud apart. Hand-trimmed, hung to dry slow, no rush to get it to the shelf. This is the batch we point to when someone asks what a heavy indica is supposed to smell like.
Terpenes · 2.41% total
What you're smelling.
Terpenes are the aroma oils in cannabis, and they steer how a strain feels as much as how it smells. Johnny Boy runs on myrcene. Here is the full lineup, in plain English.
Myrcene
1.27%Dominant · Overripe mango & musk
This is the terpene most associated with a heavy indica body feel. At 1.27%, it is the single heaviest terpene reading on our whole shelf right now.
Caryophyllene
0.37%Black pepper & clove
Your body treats this one a little like a cannabinoid, and it tends to calm rather than excite. Here it settles in underneath the myrcene, more felt than smelled.
Alpha-Pinene
0.23%Fresh pine & cut herb
This is the terpene that keeps a jar from smelling flat. In an amount this small it does not change the effect much, but it keeps the nose honest.
Humulene
0.14%Dry hops & earth
Humulene shows up in hops as much as cannabis. It leans dry and grounding, and at this dose it rounds off the sharper edges.
Effects, honestly
How it lands.
Johnny Boy is a body strain first. The myrcene does most of the talking, and at 1.27% there is more of it here than in anything else we carry. Expect heaviness in the shoulders and legs within the first few minutes, not a slow build. There is little cerebral lift to speak of.
Thinking gets quiet fast, and staying upright gets harder from there. At 26.51% THC this is strong flower, and the terpene profile pushes it further toward sedation than the number alone suggests. If your tolerance is low, take less than you think you need and plan to stay in for the night. This one is built for late evening.
The Grower's Read
What we'd tell a friend.
Scored 0 to 5 by the people who grew it.
Head
Quiet almost immediately. Not a strain for staying sharp.
Body
The heaviest body load we grow. It starts in the shoulders.
Pace
Fast. Give it ten minutes, not thirty, before you judge it.
Appetite
Have food ready before you start.
From the counter
This is the strain I send home with anyone who says they can't shut their brain off at night. Smoke it after dinner, not before. Give it fifteen minutes before you decide you need more. It will still be working an hour later, so plan on staying in.
