Concentrates in Las Cruces.

The dab case at 1595 El Paseo Rd has the most confusing vocabulary in the store. Rosin, live resin, diamonds, sauce, badder. Below is what each of those words is telling you, and what to buy if you have never owned a rig.

It all comes off the outside.

Trichomes are the resin glands that form on the outside surface of the bracts, and they hold nearly everything worth having in a cannabis plant. Every concentrate on this shelf is the same idea executed differently. Get those glands off the plant, leave the plant behind, and sell what is left.

That is why the numbers jump. Flower carries the resin along with all the leaf and stem it grew on. A concentrate is the resin with the plant removed, so the same gram lands several times harder. Our concentrates guide walks through the extraction methods themselves.

What the shelf words mean.

Most of the names describe texture or process. None of them is a potency grade, and a more expensive texture is a different experience rather than a stronger one.

Rosin

Pressed out with heat and pressure. No solvent ever touches it, which is why it costs more and why people who care about that pay it.

Live resin

Extracted from plants frozen right after harvest instead of dried first. Freezing preserves terpenes that drying drives off, so it usually tastes the loudest on the shelf.

Diamonds

THCA crystallized into visible chunks. The purest-looking thing in the case, and usually sold sitting in the terpene liquid it separated from.

Sauce

That terpene liquid on its own, or the whole diamonds-and-sauce mixture. Wet, runny, and heavy on flavor.

Badder and budder

Whipped during the purge until it goes opaque and scoopable. Same extract, different handling, and far easier to work with than something that runs off the tool.

Shatter

Left undisturbed instead of whipped, so it sets into a glass sheet you snap. Stable on a shelf and stiff in the cold.

Three ways in without a rig.

A rig and a torch are the traditional setup, and plenty of people buy concentrates here without owning either.

A cartridge

Concentrate already loaded into hardware that heats it for you. $8 out the door here. Our vape page covers the shapes.

An infused pre-roll

Concentrate worked into flower and rolled. The gentlest introduction on the shelf, and it sits on our pre-roll ladder.

On top of a bowl

A small piece of badder over packed flower burns fine in a normal pipe. Old trick, still works, no new hardware.

Whichever way you go in, start with a piece about the size of a grain of rice and give it time before you go again. A concentrate can run several times the THC of the flower it came from.

Questions about concentrates.

What concentrates do you carry in Las Cruces?

Rosin, live resin, diamonds, and sauce all come through, and the case turns over as harvests and drops land. Rosin batches sell out and extract runs rotate, so call us at (575) 523-5918 for what is on the shelf right now.

Do I need a dab rig to buy concentrates?

No. A cartridge is a concentrate already loaded into hardware, and an infused pre-roll is concentrate wrapped in flower. Both get you the same class of product without owning a rig or a torch. Ours start at $8 for a cartridge, tax included.

What is the difference between rosin and live resin?

Rosin is pressed out with heat and pressure and nothing else, so no solvent ever touches it. Live resin is extracted from fresh-frozen plants using a solvent that is then purged off. Rosin costs more because the process gives up yield to stay solventless, and live resin usually carries a louder terpene profile.

How much concentrate should I start with?

Less than you think. A concentrate can run several times the THC of the flower it came from, so a piece the size of a grain of rice is a real dose for someone new to it. Start there and wait before going again.
